Just bought a new HP Desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. I had a XT network running fine with XP machines but now I can not print from my XP on my network printer. After many hours of " do this and do that" in W7 I found this information on the Microsoft Web Site which is absolutely useless information after you purchased a machine and transferred all the files. Computers must be running Windows 7 to join a homegroup. HomeGroup is available in all editions of Windows 7. In Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Basic, you can join a homegroup, but you can’t create one. I would love to hear from someone on what the Fix is, other than installing W7 on my other XT machines that are working fine.
